Broughty Athletic will be keeping an eye on the local weather for the Dundee area today and tonight as they prepare for the arrival of Sauchie Juniors on Saturday in the Super League at Whitton Park.

With the Whitton Park holding up time being with the recent rain downfalls, more heavy rain is scheduled for Friday starting late afternoon, with its heaviest after midnight into early Saturday morning, along with gusting winds of between 30-70mph. The rain is set to continue late Saturday morning and all afternoon with winds dropping to 40mph. With all this in mind, BAJFC officials have arranged an early morning pitch inspection for Whitton Park to see if it’s playable for 1-45pm kick-off.

Should the game be called off Saturday morning then Broughty could face a late dash to face Linlithgow Rose in the Super League, that is if their senior Scottish Cup 3rd round tie away to Wick Academy were to be called off, their pitch inspection is scheduled for 3-30pm Friday afternoon.
