Following on from Wednesday nights 2-0 away win at Broxburn Athletic, the Fed came home with another three points today after a 2-1 win at Musselburgh Athletic in the league.

Broughty started the game with just one change from Wednesday night, Drew Fleming coming in for Ryan Suttie. Missing again was Jamie Winter(suspended) and Danny Cavanagh(injured). John Sinclair started for the second game in a row in the goal.

With the sides going in 0-0 at halftime courtesy of a couple of great saves from Sinclair in the goal, it was not long after the second half had kicked off when the deadlock was broken, Broughty’s Ross McCord slotting home a penalty after a handball in the Musselburgh box. Striker Shaka Roy doubled the Fed’s lead five minutes from time, tapping into an empty net before the home side pulled one back in the dying seconds.

The win moves Broughty up to seventh in the league, a position they will at least finish in, with teams below them unable to catch them up on points, despite the Fed still having to games left to play, both at home against Bonnyrigg Rose and Lochee United, starting with Bonnyrigg at Whitton Park on Saturday 20th May..
