BAJFC manager Keith Gibson gives us his thoughts on last night’s 2-2 draw with local side Dundee Violet in Broughty’s second and final pre-arranged friendly game. Read below what he had to say…

“The only thing to take out of tonight’s game was the players getting game time and a couple of individual performances. The tempo throughout the game wasn’t high enough and we never played with an intensity that we can. We controlled large parts of possession throughout the game and created numerous chances but at 2-0 up we should have seen the game out. I feel we got complacent and we gifted Violet their first goal and lost a poor second goal from our point of view. At the end of the game, we tried not to be too negative as the players know their selves that it wasn’t up to our standard.

We now need to train well on Thursday night as we can’t take tonight’s performance into Saturday’s game against Newtongrange Star. The players need to be really focused on what we want to achieve in the second half of this season and hit the targets we have set the club. We need to hit the ground running this Saturday and we need to be at our best to go and get a positive result. We have drawn our last two league games against Linlithgow Rose and Jeanfield Swifts following four previous defeats and I’ll be looking for a victory come Saturday as we’re overdue one…”
