Despite Broughty Athletic’s humiliating 6-1 defeat at home to Broxburn Athletic yesterday, the Fed have secured their Super League status for next season with results elsewhere in the league going there way meaning the Fed cannot finish in the bottom two automatic relegation positions or the third bottom play-off place.

It will be the Fed’s third season in the Super League next season, following their promotion from the Premier League in season 2014/15, and it’s looked upon as a fantastic achievement for such a small club. Their first season saw them finish a respectable tenth position. The Fed are still two points from equalling last season points tally of 39 points and hope to pass that in the coming weeks.

There are still five games to play in this season’s campaign, with a trip to Lochee United up next Saturday, then games against Bonnyrigg Rose and Lochee United at home and trips to Broxburn and Musselburgh Athletic all still to be arranged, plus a GA Engineering cup final against Tayport.
