BAJFC are pleased to announce that striker Stewart McConnachie has extended his contract with the club for another year keeping with the Fed until the summer of 2018.
With Stewart’s contract due to expire at the end of this month, Fed manager Keith Gibson was keen to tie down his striker for another assault in the Super League next season.
Stewart, pictured above starring in the GA Engineering Cup final win over Tayport at Tannadice Park and pictured left, is no stranger to junior football having played for several teams including Dundee Violet, Lochee United and Forfar West End throughout his career. Stewart is now 35yrs old and started playing football when he was 16yrs of age, without having any seasons off for a break. He joined the Fed in the summer of 2015 and was instrumental in helping the Fed in their maiden season to finish in tenth spot in the Super League last season.
Fed gaffer Keith Gibson said of Stewart’s contract extension… “Delighted to have Tweedy(Stewart) on board for another season. He had a great run towards the end of this season and put in some great shifts. He knows how to score a goal or two and never gives up, chases everything. He’s one of the mature players in the squad but still gives his all and if he can keep this going next season then he’ll be a big part of our strike force up front…”
Everyone at BAJFC would like to wish Stewart all the best for next season at the Fed…
