Once again Broughty Athletic prepare for their trip to face North Region Super League side Stonehaven FC in the third round of the GA Engineering Inter-Regional Cup at Glenury Park.
The game was called off two weeks ago due to parts of the pitch being frozen due to the recent cold snap. Both clubs will be hoping the pitch holds up and that the game can be played, with Forfar West End awaiting the winners in the quarter-finals.
Hosts Stonehaven currently sit second in their North-Region Super League, eight points behind league leaders Banks O’ Dee but with four games in hand. As with Broughty, Stonehaven have barely played since the turn of the year, just the three games, a 6-1 thumping from West Region side Rossvale in the Scottish Junior Cup, a 2-0 away win over Colony Park in the previous round of this cup competition and last weekend defeating FC Stoneywood 2-0 in the league.
The Fed once again are injury free going into the game, with only defender Jamie Sime missing, currently on loan at local side Dundee Violet. Recent debutant defender Bastien Wibaut will be pushing for another start following his impressive display in the recent 2-1 defeat away to Linlithgow in the league, but the manager, Keith Gibson, will be holding all his choices close to his chest for this one-off cup game.
All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick off at Glenury Park, home of Stonehaven FC. Should the game end in a draw after ninety minutes, a penalty shoot-out will determine who goes into the hat for the next round.
