Broughty Athletic had to come from behind in Saturday’s game at Whitton Park against visitors Forfar West End in the league, and when they did, they put five past their visitors and moved within one point at the top of the Super League with the win.

Read below what Fed manager Jamie McCunnie had to say on the win and preparations for next Saturday’s Scottish Junior Cup 3rd round game at home to Saint Anthony’s FC…

“The performance, on the whole, was very pleasing despite a poor start to the game and going a goal down early on.
Our keeper, Calum Brodie, played his first game of the season and was excellent in our goal.

In the forward areas, we looked a real threat going goalwards and it was nice to see striker Bryan Duell end up with a hat-trick after some great play and assists by our midfielders and wide men in the game.

Moving onto next weekend, our game on Saturday against Forfar West End set us up for what will be a massive Scottish Cup game against Saint Anthony’s. They didn’t have a game on Saturday so will be fresh and ready to go so we will focus on ourselves this week in training, concentrate on what we can do to win the game and hopefully get a performance similar to the last two Saturdays…”
