Broughty Athletic are on Scottish Junior Cup duty this Saturday when they welcome West Region side Saint Anthony’s to Whitton Park in a 3rd round tie.
The Fed travelled to Perthshire Glasgow in the second round and ran out 2-1 winners to be in the hat for the third round draw to be drawn against Saint Anthony’s whom themselves beat New Elgin FC 2-1.
Opponents Saint Anthony’s ply their trade in the West Region League Two and currently sit in seventh position in the fifteen team league so far this season and having won their last two league fixtures. They go into the game against the Fed having not played last weekend with their proposed game away to Annbank United in the West Region League Two postponed due to the weather.
Broughty go into the game fresh off their 5-1 thumping of Forfar West End last Saturday and the previous week a 2-0 win against Downfield so both sides feel they are more than capable of getting into the next round of the Macron sponsored Scottish Junior Cup.
Broughty welcomed back last weekend to the squad Ross McCord who had missed the last four games through injury and will go into the game with a full and fit squad to choose from although the only absentee will be defender Grieg McNaughton following his sending off last Saturday against FWE.
All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick-off at Whitton Park. Should the game end in a draw after 90mins then a reply will take place on Saturday 2nd November at McKenna Park in Govan.
