Broughty Athletic head to Beechwood Park, home of Sauchie Juniors this Saturday as they aim to make it three Super League wins in a row following recent wins over Newtongrange Star and Musselburgh Athletic.
The Fed are on a small winning streak at the moment, having won four on the bounce since their narrow 2-1 away defeat at Linlithgow Rose, with wins over Stonehaven FC(GA Cup), Forfar WE(EOS Cup) and the two Super League wins, with clean sheets in their last three games courtesy of a solid defence and goalkeeper Iain Ross (pictured left). So another win in the league this Saturday is a must for Keith Gibson’s side as the foot of the league table is getting
Hosts Sauchie currently sit in tenth position, two above the Fed, seven points ahead but having played seven more games than the Fed. Recent results for Sauchie in their last three games include defeats away to Kelty Hearts and Penicuik Athletic, but a resounding 6-2 win at Fauldhouse. Their last home game at Beechwood Park ended in a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Broxburn Athletic.
The Fed once again have no fresh injury worries with Frankie Lannen still out and Jamie Sime still on loan at local side Dundee Violet. After making his brief debut as a late substitute last Saturday against Musselburgh, new signing Brian Clark may have to again be content with a place on the bench.
