Broughty Athletic will try again to play their first game at Whitton Park since their 2-1 home loss to Hill of Beath back on the 7th November 2015 when they welcome Sauchie in the league this Saturday.
With games against St Andrews, Sauchie, Bonnyrigg Rose all falling foul of the recent weather over the winter period, the club are hopeful the game gets the go-ahead this Saturday following the call-off last week due to snow.
Visitors Sauchie currently sit in ninth place, four places above The Fed, and six points ahead. But Broughty do have five games in hand on their visitors so a win for the home side would be beneficial. Sauchie’s last three Super League matches, in between weather call-offs like Broughty, were a 2-2 home draw to Newtongrange Star last Saturday, a 3-0 home win over Hill of Beath the game before, but suffered a heavy 6-1 away to Musselburgh Athletic mid-December.
Broughty have no new injury worries ahead of the game, with defender Bastien Wibaut(pictured left)hoping to make the squad following his return from France during the holidays, so Fed manager Keith Gibson will have a full squad to choose from bar defender Jamie Sime, who is out on loan at local side Violet.
Kick-off is 2pm at Whitton Park. Any pitch inspections planned for the park will be made public asap.
Admission prices are £5 for Adults & £2 for OAP/Kids.
