Broughty Athletic JFC are pleased to announce the signing of striker James Collier, pictured centre above, on a one-year deal from North Region Junior side Montrose Roselea.

Collier (2)The 31yr old, pictured left, decided to leave Montrose Roselea after 5 years at the club when they transferred from the East Region JFA, being in the Premier League, to ply their trade in the North Region alongside the likes of Forres Thistle, Islavale, and Newmacher United during the summer months.

Fed manager Keith Gibson was in the market looking for a quality striker after loanee Kevin Buchan was snapped up by Cove Rangers at the end of the season and James fits the bill perfectly according to him…

James is a great signing for the club and I’m glad he accepted our offer to come and join us. He his a proven goalscorer and will definitely score goals in this Super League. He’s a big lad as a striker, goes for every challenge be it aerial or on the ground and will hopefully play a big part next season. We were light up front with Kevin Buchan leaving and I’m glad we’ve got our man to beef us up with his experience in the senior and junior game…”

James won the Montrose Roselea ‘Management & Coaches’ and ‘Supporters Player of the Year’ awards at Montrose Roselea at the end of season awards night and had this to say on joining the Whitton Park side…

“I’m glad to have joined Broughty Athletic after meeting with the gaffer. He had only good words to say about the club and what he wants to do here. We have a few weeks of training and pre-season matches before the new Super League starts and I am buzzing to get started and be a part of it…”CollierArgyle
