It’s a game of the Athletic’s this weekend as Broughty Athletic travel to face Musselburgh Athletic in the Super League. The Fed will be looking to make it four wins in a row, in all competitions, having recently defeated Stonehaven FC, Newtongrange and last Saturday’s opponents Forfar West End.

Two clean sheets, two goals conceded and six goals scored are the latest stats for the Fed in their mini three-game winning streak. Despite a poor lethargic performance Saturday past at home to FWE in the GA Cup, the players know the Super League is their bread and butter, and nothing less three points is a must come Saturday.

Hosts Musselburgh currently sit fourth top of the league having played 23 games, amassing 36 points along the way compared to Broughty’s 16 games played and 17 points gained. In their last three league games, Musselburgh have won against Fauldhouse, lost to Linlithgow and drawn 1-1 against Boness United.

Broughty will have again a near full squad to choose from, with Frankie Lannen still out injured and defender Jamie Sime still out on loan with local side Dundee Violet.

The side’s haven’t met in the Super League yet this season, two games were postponed due to the recent poor weather in mid-January and mid-February but they did meet each other in the East of Scotland Cup at Whitton Park at the start of September, with Broughty running out comfortable winners 3-1 with goals from former striker Lee Sibanda, Bryan Duell and Stewart McConnachie, pictured scoring the third goal.

Kick-off at the Olivebank Stadium, home of Musselburgh Athletic, is at 2-30pm.
