Broughty Athletic JFC can officially announce that midfielder Danny Cavanagh is set to leave the club at the end of the season after signing a pre-contract deal with senior side Montrose FC.
Former Fed assistant manager Stewart Petrie, who is now the manager at Montrose, just recently signed a contract extension with the Links Park side keeping him there until the summer of 2019, moved fast to sign 23yr old Danny for next season after his return to Broughty Athletic from a recent move to Australia.
Last season Danny played a major part in helping the Fed secure their Super League status in their maiden season, finishing tenth. This season, Danny has made twenty-eight appearances for the Fed either side of his short move to Australia in November before returning January this year and scored five goals during his spell.
Danny, pictured above in blue against Brechin Vics back in September 2016, shielding the ball from the now Fed assistant manager Charlie King, still has two games left to feature for the Fed this season, first up this coming Sunday in the GA Engineering Cup final against Tayport at Tannadice Park and the final Super League game of the season against his former loan side, Lochee United, at Whitton Park on Saturday 3rd of June.
All at BAJFC wish Danny all the very best in his end of season move to Montrose FC and thank him for his contribution this season, and last season, with the Fed…
