Broughty Athletic welcomed some good news on the injury front, midfielder Fraser Smith has returned to some light running following his recent knee injury that has kept him out since being carried off in the 2-1 win against Jeanfield Swifts on the 19th August.

Fraser, a new signing for the Fed in the summer, was carried off early in the game following a blocked challenge, see photo, when he was taking a shot at the Swifts goal. Early diagnosis thought he’d be out for a couple of weeks but that was extended to possibly 6-8 weeks. Fraser is now back jogging/running and hopes to take part in light training in the coming weeks ahead.

Defender Garry Kenneth missed Saturday’s game with a niggling leg injury but he hopes to be back in contention this Saturday under the new management of Jim Finlayson and his assistant Jimmy Glass. The Fed take on Newtongrange Star this Saturday at Whitton Park, kickoff is at 2-30pm.
