BAJFC manager Keith Gibson spoke of his thoughts after Saturdays 3-2 away defeat to Newtongrange Star in the Super League. Here’s what he had to say…
“Saturday was certainly a game of two half’s! I felt we sat off Newtongrange in the first half and our ball retention was poor and we were punished for that by losing three goals. Newtongrange are a good side but we made it far to easy for them.
Second half we changed the shape of the team slightly and I feel we dominated the half in terms of chances created and possession, with excellent passing playing at a high tempo. If we had scored early on in the half, we possibly would of got something out of the game rather than the defeat. Not one for commenting on refereeing decisions, but for me we should have had one if not two stonewall penalties in the last five minutes of the game!
It was a frustrating result in the end after giving ourselves far too much to do after the first half showing, but we’ll take the positives out of the second half and take that into next Saturdays game at home to Boness United. One major positive from the game was defender Paul Lunan getting 45 minutes under his belt after his lengthy lay-off with injury…”
