Broughty Athletic manager Jamie McCunnie was pleased with his sides 6-3 win on Saturday against visitors Luncarty and praised his side for scoring a few goals in the process. Read what he had to say below…

“The game was all about getting the correct result, a win. We spoke to the players before the game about the importance of getting back on track not only in the Super League but all domestic cup competitions that we are left in. To get the result we got was great and overall I think it was well deserved.

Scoring six goals on the day was a credit to the players in forwarding areas and it’s always nice to see your new signing, Ryan Connelly, (pictured above) to get on the score sheet on his debut. He deserved all his three goals. I thought the boys as a whole were fantastic and we worked really hard to create some of the chances that came our way.

A special mention has to go to Marc Scott (pictured left), he created a good few chances for himself but just didn’t get that goal he deserved. We could have doubled our tally had all our good chances went in.

That was the plus sides to the game, what’s slightly concerning is losing three goals especially at home. But we now have a full week ahead to try and put that right on the training ground before we play North End for the third time this season in the Quest Engineering Cup (old Signature Signs Cup), having already beaten them in the league at the start of the season then last weeks’ penalty shootout defeat in the DJ Laing cup.”
