With manager Jamie McCunnie away on holiday, it was left to assistant manager Ralph Henderson to take the team and ring some changes for Saturday’s visit of North End. Broughty Athletic gained the three points in the Super League by hitting their visitors for five with a 5-0 win and gaffer Jamie gave us his thoughts on the victory…
“Ralph said the boys were excellent on Saturday so I can’t really ask for any more than that from him and the lads. It’s a very good win and helps us in our preparation, build-up, to next Saturday’s Scottish Cup game away to Cambuslang Rangers which will be a hard game.
Our last three home games have seen us score 15 goals and conceded just the 2, so hopefully, the lads are playing with a lot of confidence and we go through to Glasgow in good form and confidence we can come back with a result.
It was nice to hear a few of the boys got to play yesterday that hadn’t started for a while, so absolute fair play to Ralph (pictured) for ringing in the changes and fair play to the lads who took their chance. They’ve been waiting patiently and maintained excellent fitness levels through working hard at training and that shows by the resounding 5-0 result and the whole teams’ performance yesterday…“
