Broughty Athletic manager Keith Gibson spoke of his delight following his sides 3-2 home win against previously undefeated Linlithgow Rose on Saturday at Whitton Park in the league.

Read below what BAJFC manager Keith Gibson had to say on the win…

“Firstly, what a great win, we needed that. After losing such an early goal, we responded well and the players showed a lot of character. Myself, Ray and Tony put a lot of demands on the players before the game and I felt that’s the best we have played in the last few weeks. Every player stuck to their task well and I felt we deserved our lead going in at halftime as we were up against the Linlithgow players and never gave them a minute.

Second half we never started that well but managed to score our third goal, and what a goal it was. But instead of seeing out the game we started to look nervous, then Rose scored with 15mins to go and piled on some pressure looking for the equalizer but I felt we defended really well and overall were worthy of the win and three points against a good, experienced Linlithgow side who were undefeated.

Hopefully this win can kick start our season again and give my squad of players the confidence and belief that we can compete at this level of football in the Super League…”
