Broughty Athletic make the very short trip to face local rivals Lochee United this Saturday at Thomson Park in an eagerly awaited clash between the cities two sides.

The Fed are fresh off a humiliating 6-1 home defeat to Broxburn Athletic in the Super League last Saturday which brought their unbeaten eight-game run to an abrupt end and will be looking to put things right this Saturday.

Hosts Lochee, currently occupy the seventh spot in the Super League table, one position above the Fed with both teams on level points, 37 from their 25 games played, but the Bluebells have a better goal difference of four goals.

Their previous three Super League fixtures saw them lose last Saturday 2-1 at home to Newtongrange Star, defeat Broxburn Athletic 1-0 at home and win 2-0 away to local rivals Carnoustie Panmure so a very hard, tight game is in store come the weekend between the sides.

Broughty go into the game with a full squad to choose from with defender Jamie McCunnie, pictured, coming back into the side after missing out on the heavy defeat. Some changes are expected within the starting eleven but gaffer Keith Gibson will be keeping this close to his chest until Saturday’s team list is announced.

The sides have yet to play each other this season in the Super League so the Fed still have to welcome Lochee to Whitton Park in the coming weeks before the season end. All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick off at Thomson Park, home of Lochee United.
