Broughty Athletic travel to Prestonfield Park on Saturday to face former 2002, 2007 and 2010 Super League champions Linlithgow Rose in their eighth league game of the season.

The Fed are currently on a three game losing streak, two league losses against Camelon and Dundonald Bluebell with an East of Scotland Cup defeat to local side East Craigie. Interim manager Jamie McCunnie will be looking to get his side back to winning ways but a tough ask is ahead of them come Saturday.

Hosts Linlithgow currently sit in the third position in the league following five wins and two defeats and are on a three game winning streak with recent wins over Bo’ness United, Forfar West End and Lochee United and have won their three games at home so far.

Last season the Fed secured a great 2-1 win in the opening game of the season at Prestonfield Park, with goals from the Fed’s two Jamie’s, in McCunnie and Winter. The reverse fixture at Whitton Park saw the sides battle out a 2-2 draw.

Broughty once again will have a few injury worries within the team, Fraser Smith most certainly will miss out, and a couple of others are carrying knocks. Jamie will use training on Thursday night to assess but hopes to take a near full squad, including a couple of trialists, through to Prestonfield Park.

All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick off at Prestonfield Park, home of Linlithgow Rose.
