Broughty Athletic will aim to play their first game at Whitton Park since the 4th of November when they welcome second-bottom of the Super League Kennoway Star Hearts this Saturday.

The Fed’s last home fixture was a 0-0 draw with Bonnyrigg Rose, followed by three away fixtures at Sauchie, Bo’ness United and more recently Tayport in the GA Cup so a home game is more than welcome for the Fed.

Visitors KSH currently sit second-bottom of the league table having only gathered ten points in their fourteen games played. On their travels, they have only collected four points, a 2-0 win over Forfar West End, a 2-2 at Broxburn Athletic with five defeats away to Camelon, Hill of Beath, Dundonald Bluebell, Lochee United and Newtongrange Star so you could say they will start as underdogs for Saturday’s game.

The previous scoreline between the sides this season saw the Fed come back from Treaton Park with a point following a 1-1 draw, with Fed striker Kevin Milne netting a first-half equaliser back in August. KSH last three results have seen them lose 2-1 at home to Sauchie, lose heavily, 6-1 away to Newtongrange Star but two weeks previous put five past Star in a 5-2 home win. So scoring goals don’t seem a problem for them so Broughty’s defence will have to be in top form come Saturday.

Jim Finlayson’s side go into the game following their GA Cup exit last weekend at the hands of rivals Tayport and some changes could be made to his starting eleven following the 4-1 defeat. The Fed will welcome back striker Dayle Robertson and midfielder Fraser Smith who both missed last Saturday’s defeat but will be without Garry Kenneth and Paul McLellan who both miss out through injury. Ryan Suttie, pictured above, is back in the squad following his recent injury and defender Ryan Blair is available despite his red card he picked up against Tayport in the GA Cup defeat.

All fans are reminded this game is a 1-45pm at Whitton Park. Admission prices are £6 for Adults and £3 for Kids/OAPs. For those wishing a bite to eat then, theBroughty Pie Shop’ will be in operation before and during the game…
