Broughty Athletic are back on Super League business this Saturday when they welcome last season’s Super League champions Kelty Hearts to Whitton Park in the league.

The Fed have been on cup duty since their last Super League game, a 4-1 away win at Penicuik Athletic, where they were knocked out of the GA Engineering Cup at the semi-final stage to lower league side Jeanfield Swifts, but progressed to the quarter-finals of the East of Scotland Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win over fellow league side Camelon.

DSC_0006 (2)Visitors Kelty Hearts currently sit third in the Super League, nine points behind leaders Bonnyrigg Rose with a game in hand so are still in the hunt to regain their league crown as the season enters the closing weeks. Their last three league fixtures have seen them with wins over Penicuik Athletic and St Andrews United, with a defeat at home to Tayport in between. Both sides last met back in mid-October at Central Park in Fife, with Kelty running out 2-0 winners over the Fed.

Broughty have a few injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s game. Jay Smart, Grant Lawson, Bastien Wibaut, Kieron Ross all sat out the win over Camelon. Brian Clark will be back in the squad and in contention with a starting place having missed out both cup games due to being cup-tied. Broughty require just six points to confirm their Super League status for next season but that could be less should the teams below them drop points this weekend and Broughty take something against Kelty.

All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick off at Whitton Park. Admission prices are £5 for Adults and £2 for OAP/Kids.
