Broughty Athletic welcome Perthshire side Jeanfield Swifts to Whitton Park on Wednesday night in their second Super League game of the new season and their first home league game.
Following on from Saturday’s 2-1 away win at Prestonfield Park against Linlithgow Rose, Fed manager Keith Gibson will be hoping his side continue their great start and secure the three points on offer with back to back victories.
Visitors Jeanfield lost their opening league game 3-2 at home to Penicuik Athletic on Saturday and will be looking to make their mark on Wednesday night, knowing they already have a recent win under their belts over the Fed back in late April last season, main picture above, in the form of a 2-1 GA Cup semi-final win. Jeanfield won promotion, along with Dundonald Bluebell and play-off winners Lochee United, to the Super League at the end of last season having finished top of the Premier League as champions.
Broughty go into this game with Grant Lawson and Frankie Lannen both ruled out through injury but will have Ryan Suttie, pictured right at a recent training session, available despite his sending off in the win against Linlithgow Rose on Saturday for deliberate handball on the goalline. Late fitness checks will be carried out on a couple of players but the manager is keeping their names under wraps.
All fans are reminded this game is a 7pm kick-off at Whitton Park, home of Broughty Athletic JFC. Admission prices are £6 for Adults and £3 for Kids/OAP’s. The club’s kiosk will be in operation for those wanting a bite to eat before or during the game.
