Interim manager Jamie McCunnie gave us his brief thoughts on last nights 3-1 win over visitors Forfar West End in the Super League, their second win on the trot giving the club full points and a brief seat at the top of the Super League table.

Read what Jamie had to say after speaking to our website admin team this morning…

“I’m delighted with the start we’ve had so far, that’s two wins from two games and only conceding one goal is an excellent start to the season from the lads. But for me, there’s still more to come as we’re a little bit short on sharpness but we can work on that this Thursday night at training then push on again this Saturday through in Fife where we face Kennoway Star Hearts.

I thought for large parts of the game last night we defended very well, and we limited FWE to very few clear cut chances. On the flip side, we had three one on ones with their keeper which would have made the result more convincing had they been converted. Full credit to FWE, they battled back in the second half and put us under pressure and we conceded the equaliser from an unmarked header. But the boys regrouped and scored twice late on, a fantastic free kick from Paul McLellan and then the penalty.

The players have to take a great amount of credit as they have been excellent and done exactly what’s been asked of them and they are getting the rewards under what has been difficult circumstances within the club. We now look to Saturday and another three points is what we’re after…”

The club now travels to face Kennoway Star Hearts, runners up of the Premier League last season, on Saturday in the Super League, with kick off at 2-30pm.
