Individual mistakes from some players cost Broughty any chance of finishing their last away game of the season with a win says Fed manager Jamie McCunnie as his side went down 4-1 away from home against in-form Hill of Beath Hawthorn on Saturday at Keirs Park. Read below what he had to say…
“For the second game in a row, I’m not happy after another poor start to the game against Hill of Beath. Just like the game before at Bonnyrigg Rose last week, we found ourselves 3 -0 down after about 15/20 minutes due to individual errors and decision making from certain players in the team. We did manage to pull a goal back with Brian Clark scoring a good goal before halftime.
We started the second half really well and pressed the home side and if we had managed to get the next goal in the game it would have really given us a lift and push on for an equaliser but sadly another individual mistake gave them their fourth goal to kill the game off despite having just over half an hour left to play.
Our travelling is now finished for this season and we now go onto the last game of our season this Wednesday night at Whitton Park against our local rivals Lochee United and we’ll be looking for a big response from the players for this game after two very poor performances. Lochee themselves have had a couple of bad results recently, losing away to Bo’ness United on Saturday and Carnoustie Panmure midweek so they’ll be looking to put in a good result against us too so it’s set up to hopefully be a cracking game come Wednesday night…”
As Jamie says, Broughty Athletic welcome Lochee United to Whitton Park this Wednesday night in their last game of the 2017/18 season with kick off scheduled for 7pm.
