Broughty Athletic welcome tenth placed Hill of Beath Hawthorn to Whitton Park this Saturday in a Super League clash. It’s the first meeting of the sides this season with a fixture a Keirs Park still to be arranged.

The Fed will be looking for back to back victories again this season following their recent 2-0 win away to Newtongrange Star on Saturday past when at the same time Hill of Beath lost out to Arniston Rangers 1-0 in the Fife & Lothian Cup and will be looking to bounce back so a cracking game looks in store come Saturday afternoon.

Visitors HOB currently occupy tenth spot in the league with twenty points gained from just seventeen matches played, five matches less than the Fed so a win for the Whitton Park side is crucial to extend their ten points advantage over their opponents. HOB’s three previous league results have seen them lose against Linlithgow Rose 2-1, and draw against Penicuik Athletic 1-1 and Newtongrange Star 2-2 so a win for them is overdue also.

Last seasons results between the sides saw Broughty win both games, 3-1 at Keirs Park with goals from Brian Clark, Paul McLellan and Danny Cavanagh and 1-0 at Whitton Park with former defender Jay Smart heading home the only goal of the game, pictured left.

The Fed go into the game with still a couple of injury worries and those players will still have Thursday nights’ training session to put themselves in contention for a starting place or a seat on the bench come Saturday.

All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick off at Whitton Park. Admission prices are £6 for Adults and £3 for OAPs/Kids. For those wishing a bite to eat before and during the game, the ‘Broughty Pie Shop’ will be in operation with hot pies on offer from the award winning Grants the Butchers, Blackness Road in Dundee.
