BAJFC manager Jim Finlayson said he was pleased with his side’s 5-0 win over local side Dundee Violet last night at the GA Arena following weeks without a competitive game in the Super League.

The Fed arranged the friendly so the squad could get some much-needed game time under their belts as the second half of the season kicks off this Saturday when the Fed welcome near neighbours Carnoustie Panmure to Whitton Park.

Broughty went in at halftime 2-0 to the good with goals from Barry Myles and Liam McCartney. Three further goals followed in the second half, a Jammy Winter penalty and a double from striker Dayle Robertson to wrap up the scoring. Fed manager Jim Finlayson had this to say…

“It was a good run out for the lads, we have an important game coming this Saturday and tonight was to just keep the lads ticking over their match fitness levels. Some good goals and individual performances made me happy tonight. We gave both keepers a half each, young John Sinclair the first half and new signing Chris McPherson the second and both did well. We now look ahead to training Thursday night and then onto Saturday’s game, weather permitting…”

BAJFC would like to thank everyone at Dundee Violet for the game and wish them all the best for the remainder of the season in their league campaign.
