As the club continue their pre-season training sessions, gaffer Keith Gibson spoke of his delight at what he has seen so far with the squad, including the five new signings, as they prepare for their first game this Saturday away to Dunbar United.

Keith had this to say… “The lads started back last week, I was away on holiday, but the feedback from my assistant Charlie King was he was very impressed with the effort the lads have put in so far. The lads, the ones that have been present, have been top notch in training and very competitive which is what we want from them so early on.

I took my first double session with them on Saturday and they didn’t disappoint me one bit. They got on with the tasks that were put in front of them. We have signed some quality players and I can’t wait till the season starts early August.

Some players left the club during the summer break, Danny Cavanagh making the step up to senior side Montrose FC, Jay Smart to Lochee Harp as player/assistant manager, also Ross McCord, Grant Lawson and Frankie Lannen have left too, but the lads we’ve brought in are more than capable of doing their job on match day. We have Dunbar United away this Saturday, although we are struggling for numbers due to holiday commitments with certain players, we’ll go down there and play our game and see what happens…”

Following Saturday’s trip to Dunbar United, Broughty host local side Dundee Violet at Whitton Park on Tuesday 18th with a 7pm kick off. More fixtures can be found by clicking on ‘MATCHDAY’ on our main website page.
