Broughty Athletic are on their travels this Saturday as they make the trip to Carmuirs Park to face ninth-placed Camelon in the Super League.

The Fed have not played a competitive game since their GA Cup defeat to Tayport at the start of December and their last league game was mid-November away to Bo’ness United in a 3-3 draw. Hosts Camelon last played a league game too mid-November, a 1-0 home win over Penicuik Athletic. Hopefully, the weather holds off and Saturday’s game gets the go-ahead at Carmuirs Park.

The sides have met already this season, at the start of September at Whitton Park, when Camelon went home with all three points following a 2-1 win, with Fed defender Garry Kenneth putting the Whitton Park side ahead early in the game. Things didn’t get any better for the home side as midfielder Kieran McWalter was sent off following two bookings in the game. Last season the Fed suffered a heavy 5-2 defeat at a rain-soaked Carmuirs Park, a scoreline and result the Fed will be eager to avoid come Saturday, Broughty’s Ryan Suttie pictured during the game challenging for the ball.

Broughty should be at full strength going into the game with only Paul McLellan and Garry Kenneth both doubts having been out injured for the last several weeks.

Kick off is scheduled for 1-45pm at Carmuirs Park, home of Camelon JFC, but an eye should be kept on our social media pages for any planned pitch inspections, call-offs etc due to the recent weather conditions and forecasts for the weekend…
