Following on from Tuesday night’s 7-1 friendly win over a young local Dundee Violet side, Broughty Athletic themselves were on the end of the same scoreline this afternoon, going down 7-1 to Highland League visitors Fraserburgh FC.

With three new signings missing, Dayle Robertson, Fraser Smith and Kevin Milne and defender Jamie McCunnie rested along with goalkeeper Iain Ross, it was a Shaka Roy penalty in the first half that broke the deadlock before Fraserburgh equalised to send the sides in 1-1 at halftime. But a second half collapse, along with two possible bad injuries to captain Jamie Winter and defender Ryan Suttie, completed a miserable day for the Whitton Park side.

Broughty take on North End on Tuesday night at Whitton Park with a 7-15pm kick off in their third pre-season friendly.
