Broughty Athletic suffered a 3-1 loss away to Montrose FC last night in a pre-arranged friendly match at Links Park.

Fed manager Jamie McCunnie arranged the fixture to give some players returning from injury and some players who have sat on the sidelines in recent games a chance to get some game time under their belts against a Montrose FC side that consisted of some youth and reserve squad players.

The Fed were 2-0 behind at halftime with the home side scoring after 35mins and 43mins. A further goal on 75mins in the second half put the home side 3-0 ahead before Fed striker Kevin Milne, pictured left, pulled one back on 88mins to make the final score 3-1 to Montrose. A good run out for the side using several substitutes which was more important than the end result.

Broughty now prepare for the visit of Hill of Beath Hawthorn this Saturday afternoon in the Super League at Whitton Park, with kick off scheduled for 2-30pm.
