Broughty Athletic backed up their 5-1 friendly win over local side Lochee Harp nine days ago with a convincing 3-0 win over Highland league side Fraserburgh FC at Whitton Park this afternoon.

With several noticeable players released from the club at the end of the season, the likes of Jordan Garden, Taylor Berry, Danny Cavanagh, Kieran McWalter along with Dayle Robertson and Ryan Suttie who both signed for fellow Super League side Tayport, it was a chance for the squad to show Fed manager Jamie McCunnie what they have and give food for thought with the new season approaching soon.

With some key players missing through holidays, injuries or work commitments, namely Graham Hay, Brian Clark, Derryn Kesson, Chris Liversedge and goalkeeper John Sinclair, it was a tough competitive game for the remaining squad to go up against their Highland League opposition in their annual friendly match. The sides went in at halftime level at 0-0 but two quick goals from Paul McLellan, pictured below, the second from the penalty spot, put the Fed 2-0 up. Recent new signing John Roberts sealed the win for the home side with the third and final goal of the game as their preparations continue in their pre-season campaign.

The Fed now look towards their third arranged friendly against North Super League side Montrose Roselea on Thursday night at Whitton Park with kick off at 6-45pm who are managed by former Fed striker and GA Engineering Cup winner 2017, James Collier.
