Broughty Athletic were knocked out of the Scottish Junior Cup going down 2-1 at Hurlford United 2-1 in the third round.

In a half were the visitors had the better of both sides it was the Fed who took the lead midway through the half courtesy of a Kev Milne goal, 1-0. Had Broughty’s Paul McLellan tucked away his effort later on the Fed could have gone in a halftime further ahead but had to settle for 1-0.

Hurlford came storming back in the second 45mins of the game, scoring twice to take the lead as Broughty tired as the game went on. A couple of chances did fall their way, namely, Derryn Kesson hitting the post with his effort but sadly it was not to be.
