We are to go on the assumption that football across the Junior level is to carry on until further notice so up next for Broughty Athletic this Saturday in a league fixture is free-scoring East Craigie. Although the freezing weather may hamper any chances of the game actually going ahead but we can only hope.
Visitors Craigie currently occupy the fourth spot in the new Premiership North league, one place behind the Fed, with nine points from a possible twelve on the board. They are the highest scoring side in the league so far, with 24 goals in just four games, with only four scored against them. They have wins against Lochee harp 7-1, Coupar Angus 12-0 and a 4-0 win over Forfar United.
Their only defeat so far was a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Tayport so a tough game is certainly in store for the Fed.
The Fed are currently on a four-game winning streak with wins over Blairgowrie, Brechin Vics, Violet and Forfar West End and they will aim to keep that run going come Saturday.
Please keep an eye out for a call-off, which is expected due to the weather forecast for Friday into Saturday. Currently, the 3G pitch is frozen due to the falling sleet/snow freezing across the park and no rest in cold temperatures.
As everyone is aware, no fans are allowed into Whitton Park due to the current restrictions. Should the game go-ahead, kick-off is at 2-30pm.
The main photo is of Fed striker Stewart McConnachie starring against East Craigie in a cup fixture back in September 2017 on the grass at Whitton Park with the visitors progressing into the next round with the win…
