Broughty Athletic will be looking to bounce back following last Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at home at the hands of local rivals Carnoustie Panmure when they welcome third-placed Dundonald Bluebell to Whitton Park in the league.
The Fed went into last Saturday’s game unbeaten in their previous three league games against Bonnyrigg Rose, Bo’ness United and Sauchie but were easily turned over by their neighbours so come Saturday they will be looking to put things right and keep the three points in the city.
Visitors Dundonald currently sit in the third position in the Super League following ten wins out of the sixteen league games they have played. Six defeats without any drawn games have seen them climb up to third spot, just five points behind leaders Bonnyrigg Rose.
Both sides have already met this season with the Fed going down 3-0 back in late August 2017 at Moorside Park. Last season at Whitton Park the Fed won 3-1 despite going in at halftime 1-0 down, Fed defender Barry Myles (pictured above) was one of the three goalscorers that day. The return fixture at Moorside Park saw the Fed bring home the points in a 2-1 win.
Broughty go into the game with no fresh injury worries from last Saturday’s game and manager Jim Finlayson will have a full squad to choose from going into the game.
All fans are reminded this game is a 1-45pm kick off at Whitton Park. Admission prices are £6 for Adults and £3 for Kids/OAPs. For those wishing a bite to eat before and during the game, the ‘Broughty Pie Shop’ will be in operation with hot pies supplied by award-winning GRANTS Butchers, Blackness Road in Dundee.
