BAJFC manager Jim Finlayson was a delighted man following his sides 0-0 draw with last seasons league runner-up Bonnyrigg Rose on Saturday. He was more so delighted with the performance rather than gaining the point he said he side deserved. Read what he had to say below…
“We went into Saturday’s game with Bonnyrigg having to shuffle the lads around due to some injuries and suspensions. The game itself I saw another side to my squad of players. The boys showed me what they are capable of when they set their minds to it. I was delighted to see each player organised, working hard for each other and more importantly they individually were fighting for every ball. And full credit to them for this, they gained the point they deserved against a good Bonnyrigg side.
We had our own chances to win the game from a couple of set pieces and right at the end when Kev Milne was clear through yet flagged for offside. It’s a point gained for the team but the performance won it for me on Saturday. We now must keep this going in training midweek and take it to our next game next weekend, we face a tough trip to Sauchie…”
Broughty Athletic face Sauchie next Saturday at Beechwood Park with kick off scheduled for 2pm.
