Broughty Athletic defender Jamie Sime, who is currently on loan at local Junior side Dundee Violet is settling well into his new, but former, surroundings according to Violet manager Scott Lindsay.
Jamie, pictured left, re-joined his former club on loan at the start of February after returning from a loan spell at North End in a bid to regain match fitness following an injury, but he never actually made his debut due to the poor winter weather putting paid to North End’s fixtures over the winter period. But now with the weather changing for the better, Jamie is now back playing his football at Violet in his bid to regain a full run of games and fitness.
As recent as last weekend, Jamie played the full ninety minutes against Bathgate Thistle in his side’s Premier League match, but unfortunately losing the game in a seven-goal thriller, 4-3. After speaking with Violet manager Scott Lindsay, he had this to say on Jamie’s recent performance…
“Jamie played very well against Bathgate despite us losing the game 4-3. He himself had a couple of chances on goal to score from certain set pieces during the game but the ball just never found the back of the net. He had an excellent second half performance and dealt with everything that came his way.
He’s settled in at his old surroundings and it’s a joy to have him here at the club, albeit on loan from Broughty Athletic. Sadly this Saturday he is cup-tied for our EOS Cup tie away to Blairgowrie, as he played for Broughty earlier in the competition against Brechin Vics, but he’ll be right back into the squad for our game against Falkirk the week after…”
