Broughty Athletic can announce that defender Jamie Sime has joined local side Dundee North End on a month’s loan in his battle to regain match fitness following his recent injury.
After signing for The Fed in late August this year from local side Dundee Violet, Jamie broke his foot in his debut appearance in a 3-0 loss at home to Penicuik Athletic and has battled back to resume training recently with the squad. An agreement between BAJFC manager Keith Gibson and Jamie was made for him to go out on loan to gain match fitness and return to the club to stake a claim in the side.
“We’ve agreed with George Shields at North End to take Jamie on loan for a month as he needs matches under his belt to get back into the side after his injury. He is, and will be, a major part in the Broughty side once he returns fitter and ready for first-team football. I would like to thank both George Shields at North End and Jamie for this agreement loan to proceed and wish both parties all the best…” said BAJFC manager Keith Gibson on the deal.
Jamie will go into the North End squad for Saturday’s away fixture at Lochee Harp. The BAJFC website will keep up to date with Jamie’s progress at North End with weekly reports from DNE manager George Shields, pictured left.
It’s the second loan between the clubs this season, with Barry Myles spending a month on loan previously after recovering from injury and returning to the squad.
