A second half comeback by local junior side Dundee Violet tonight denied Broughty Athletic a victory having been two goals ahead in their final friendly match at the GA Arena before the Super League restarts this Saturday.

With the sides level at half time 0-0, it was Paul Mclellan who broke the deadlock in the second half putting the Fed ahead 1-0. James Collier doubled Broughty’s lead at 2-0 before a spirited comeback by Violet scoring twice to level the match.

Tonight’s match was another chance for the squad to get some much-needed match time under their belts after the recent football break over the festive period before the second half of the Super League season restarts on Saturday when the Fed make the trip to New Victoria Park to face third bottom side Newtongrange Star, with a 1-45pm kick off.
