With Broughty Athletic due to face Premier League side Tayport in the final of the GA Engineering Cup sometime in late May, both clubs had to face the prospect of a coin toss to determine who would be classed as the home team and the away team as both sides wear a red strip which would clash for the game.
Former Tayport manager Davie Baikie, now Tayport Chairman, along with Fed manager Keith Gibson and Fed President Sean Donaldson, flipping the coin, carried out the easy task of deciding at the flip of the coin at Tayport’s visit to local side Dundee Violet at Glenesk Park on Wednesday. Mr Baikie called ‘Heads’ and it landed ‘Tails’ so Fed manager Keith Gibson had the choice and he went with being the ‘Home’ team for the final. So Broughty will wear their red home strip with Tayport wearing their green away strip in the final.
We thank Davie Baikie (pictured) and Tayport for participating in the toss and look forward to meeting them in the GA Engineering Cup final at Tannadice Park in the very near future.
