Current Super League champions Bonnyrigg Rose ran out comfortable 4-0 winners at home against Broughty Athletic.
Broughty were dealt a blow when first-choice keeper was ruled out so it was a first start for 18yr old John Sinclair in the goal. Also starting for the Fed was new loan signing James Yates.
In a half that was dominated by the home side, constantly putting the Fed under pressure, Broughty managed to go in at halftime just 1-0 down after a goal on the half hour mark, a near post stab home from a low cross on the right. H/T 0-1.
Then three further second half goals on 52mins, 66mins and 71mins from the hosts, killed off the game and handed Broughty their first Super League defeat of the season.
Brief summing up, Bonnyrigg controlled the game from start to finish, showing why they romped the Super League last season to become champions. Bad day at the office for Broughty who were second to every ball, passed poorly throughout the team and never really threatened the home side.
Man of the Match for the Fed, for his 100% effort throughout the game and never gave up until he came off injured with minutes to go, goes to Ryan Suttie.
