Broughty Athletic are back in Super League this Wednesday night, their fourth Super League game in eleven days, when they make the short journey to face Carnoustie Panmure at Laing Park.
The Fed are fresh off their hard fought 3-2 home win against Fauldhouse United on Saturday and are currently on a three-game unbeaten run and will be looking to notch up another three points on the board against their near local rivals and extended their run.
Hosts Carnoustie have had the exact opposite start to their Super League campaign, they sit second bottom of the league table with no points from their first three games. Defeats against Newtongrange Star, Lochee United and more recently Bo’ness United have put paid to securing any points thus far, but that can easily all change come Wednesday.
Previous scores between the sides last season saw the Fed complete the double over their hosts, winning 5-1 at Whitton Park very early on at the start of the season, and a narrow 1-0 win at Laing Park mid-April. But both teams have released players since those games and brought in some new players so Wednesday night is a new chapter and previous scores count for nothing this season.
Broughty go into the game with just Grant Lawson and Frankie Lannen both missing through injury again. Looking to make the squad again though will be recent new loan signing James Yates from Forfar Athletic, he made his debut late on as a substitute in the 3-2 win over Fauldhouse United. Back in the squad will be midfielder Jake Mair having missed Saturday’s win due to a holiday.
All fans are reminded this game is now a 6-45pm kick-off on Wednesday night at Laing Park, home of Carnoustie Panmure. Admission prices are £6 for Adults and £3 for Kids/OAPs.
