This Saturday sees a mid-table clash as seventh-placed Broughty Athletic travel to Carmuirs Park to face eighth-placed Camelon in the Super League. The fixture has been postponed previously on two occasions, the start of January and mid-February as both fell foul of a water-logged Carmuirs Park so it’s all fingers crossed for this Saturday with the recent wet weather the country has been receiving.

Broughty, fresh off a 3-3 draw Saturday past against Hill of Beath, will be looking for back to back away wins having come back from Newtongrange Star the previous week following a 2-0 win and hosts Camelon will be looking to keep their great run of recent form going as they are unbeaten in their last four games with three wins against Carnoustie Panmure, Jeanfield Swifts and Dundonald Bluebell and a drawn game away to Penicuik Athletic, so a tough match is certainly in store come Saturday.

Camelon currently sit directly below the Fed in eighth place in the league and trail the Fed just one point but do have two games in hand so a win is vital for the Whitton Park side come Saturday.  The previous scoreline between the sides this season saw Broughty go down 2-1 at home despite an early goal by former Broughty defender Garry Kenneth putting his side ahead in the game. Last season Camelon won both fixtures, winning 5-2 at Carmuirs Park and 1-0 at Whitton Park so the Fed are well overdue a result against their hosts.

Broughty go into the game with no fresh injury worries following Saturday’s game against Hill of Beath and gaffer Jamie McCunnie will hopefully have a full pool of players to choose from for the journey with one or two coming back from injury. All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick off at Carmuirs Park, home of Camelon JFC. Should there be any pitch inspections etc we will aim to bring news asap from our opponents as we receive it…
