Broughty Athletic travel to face eighth-placed Camelon this Saturday in the Super League looking to make it back to back victories following their 4-1 demolition of Bo’ness United Saturday past, stopping a three-game losing run in the process.
Broughty’s previous league win came on the 11th November with a 2-1 away win over Sauchie before Saturday’s romp over Bo’ness and interim manager Jamie McCunnie will be looking for more points on the board from his side.
Hosts Camelon currently sit directly below the Fed in eighth place in the league and trail the Fed by four points but do have two games in hand so a win is vital for the Whitton Park side come Saturday. Camelon previous three league games have seen them lose twice to Broxburn Athletic 4-0 and 1-0 to Bo’ness United but Saturday past seen them hammer Kennoway Star Hearts 6-0 away from home.
The previous scoreline between the sides this season saw Broughty go down 2-1 at home despite an early Garry Kenneth goal putting the Fed ahead in the game. Last season Camelon won both fixtures, winning 5-2 at Carmuirs Park (pictured above) and 1-0 at Whitton Park so the Fed are well overdue a result against their hosts.
Broughty go into the game with no fresh injury worries following Saturday’s game against Bo’ness and Jamie McCunnie will hopefully have another full pool of players to choose from for the journey. All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick off at Carmuirs Park, home of Camelon JFC.
