Broughty Athletic will be looking to bounce back this Saturday following their 2-1 home defeat to Jeanfield Swifts in the semi-final of the GA Engineering Cup when they welcome fellow Super League side Camelon to Whitton Park in the third round of the DJ Laing sponsored East of Scotland Cup.djlaing

A poor performance from the Fed saw them fall and miss out on a cup final appearance at Tannadice Park against local side Lochee United, conquerors of fellow Super League side Carnoustie Panmure, in the other semi-final. So BAJFC manager Keith Gibson will be looking for a response from his side going into this game, their last chance of some silverware this season.

Visitors Camelon first met the Fed in the opening Super League fixture of the season at Whitton Park, Broughty’s first ever game in the Super League after last season’s promotion, with the game finishing 0-0 with Broughty gaining their first ever point. Camelon started the EOS Cup competition with a 3-2 home win over local side Dundee North End in the first round, then went on to defeat fellow Super League side Penicuik Athletic 4-1 at home to set up Saturday’s third round clash.

Broughty’s progress to the third round started with a 3-1 home win over fellow Super League side Musselburgh Athletic, then a 5-0 demolition of lower league side Brechin Vics at Whitton Park so a tough game is in store for both sides come this Saturday. In Super League terms, Broughty currently sit three places above Camelon in the league, with six more points gained having played three games more.

All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick-off at Whitton Park. Should the game end in a draw after ninety minutes then a penalty shootout will determine who enters the hat for the next round draw.

Admission prices for Whitton Park are £5 for Adults and £2 for OAP/Kids. Please also note ‘Matchday Hospitality’ will be on for this fixture and is sold out. The match ball is sponsored by The Boars Rock pub, 168 Arbroath Road, Dundee and all at BAJFC thank manager John Rollo for his sponsorship.BroughtyAthletic-150px-transparent
