All roads lead to Somervell Park, Glasgow this Saturday as Broughty Athletic make the trip to face Cambuslang Rangers in the 4th round of the Macron sponsored Scottish Junior Cup.

The Fed go into the game full of confidence they can come back with a result against their opposition and their previous three results can show for that. Wins against North End, 5-0 and Forfar West End 5-0, both in the Super League alongside a 5-1 win in the 3rd round of the cup competition at home to Saint Anthony’s FC (photo below of Broughty’s Marc Scott) have the team and management flowing with confidence ahead of Saturday’s game.

Hosts Cambuslang currently ply their trade in the West Region Championship division and sit in twelfth position within the sixteen team league, three points above bottom spot and twenty-three points from top spot. But that all matters for nothing when it comes to Scottish Cup day, form goes out the window and it’s game on for ninety minutes.

Their previous two league results have seen them lose at home 6-3 to Gartcairn and 3-2 to Whitletts Victoria. To set up this Saturday’s clash, Cambuslang knocked out local Dundee side, East Craigie 2-1 in the 3rd round of the competition.

After speaking with Fed manager Jamie McCunnie, he reports he has a full squad to choose from and making the trip bar Brad Smith who is still back in training following his injury at the start of the season. The club are also taking names for seats on the club bus, contact Jim Finlayson for further details.

All fans are reminded Saturday’s fixture is a 1-45pm kick-off at Somervell Park, home of Cambuslang Rangers. Should the game end up a draw after ninety minutes then a reply will take place at Whitton Park the following Saturday.
