Broughty Athletic welcome eighth-placed Broxburn Athletic to Whitton Park in the Super League this Saturday. The Fed are currently on a six-game unbeaten run in the league with three wins and three draws.
The Fed are fresh off a 2-1 GA Engineering Cup win last Saturday although they were made to work hard for the win against lower Premier League side Dundee Violet and Fed gaffer Keith Gibson will be looking for a vast improvement from his side going into this game.
Broxburn currently sit one place below the Fed in the league table, trailing by just the one point having played two games more though, so a win for the Whitton Park side would be valuable to push higher up the league table and surpass last season’s total of 39 points.
Previous three scorelines for Saturday’s visitors saw them lose 1-0 to both Lochee United and Linlithgow Rose but record a 3-1 away win at Fauldhouse United. The sides have yet to meet in the league this season but did manage a fixture in the EOS Cup, the Fed losing out in a 3-2 encounter at Albyn Park.
Broughty have fresh injury worries to contend with and a full squad should be available come Saturday for Keith Gibson to choose from. Defender Drew Fleming (pictured) comes back into the squad following last week’s GA Cup win as he was cup-tied.
All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick off at Whitton Park. Should you wish a bite to eat before or during the game then the ‘Broughty Pie Shop’ will be in operation selling hot pies and sausage rolls supplied locally by Grants Butchers…
