Broughty Athletic ran out 3-1 winners in last nights arranged friendly against Premier League side Kirriemuir Thistle at the GA Arena. It was a chance for the squad to get some game time under their belts before this Saturday’s important Super League clash away in Fife against Hill of Beath.
Broughty were 2-0 ahead going in at halftime with goals from strikers Kevin Milne, slotting the ball low below the out-rushing Kirrie keeper and recent new signing Jordan Garden, pictured on the left, hitting the ball high into the net from a poor keeper clearance.
A further goal in the second half from Garden again, doubling his tally, midway through the half had the Fed 3-0 ahead before a late Kirriemuir consolation goal minutes before the final whistle finished the scoring between the sides.
A total of seventeen players were used during the course of the match with six substitutions coming on at halftime for the Fed. F/T 3-1
Broughty now travel to face Hill of Beath on Saturday at Keirs Park in the Super League, kick off is at 2-30pm.
