Broughty Athletic secured their first win of their pre-season campaign when they ran out 3-0 winners against visitors Dundee Argyle tonight at Whitton Park.

With the whole squad available plus some trialists on show, it was a chance for the manager to give the squad some much-needed game time and run the rule over the trialists during the game against their Sunday Amateur opponents.

It was a close and decent game with the visitors giving a great account of themselves throughout the ninety minutes. The Fed went in at halftime 1-0 with the goal courtesy of a trialist. Then two further goals in the second half, one from vice-captain Grant Lawson and the other from another trialist completed the scoreline.

All at BAJFC would like to thank all at Dundee Argyle for tonight’s game and wish them all the best for next season in retaining all their silverware won the previous season.

Broughty will now face a sterner test this Saturday when Highland League side Fraserburgh FC visit Whitton Park for a friendly game. Kick-off for this fixture has been brought forward to 1-30pm at Whitton Park. Admission to the game is free of charge.
