Broughty Athletic suffered their third defeat in the Super League, going down by the odd goal in five, 3-2, away to Newtongrange Star at Victoria Park.
A poor first half had The Fed trailing at halftime 3-0 down. But a spirited fightback in the last 15 minutes of the game courtesy of Lee Sibanda on 75mins and Bryan Duell on 80mins brought Broughty back into the game. But two stonewall penalty denials and striker Bryan Duell being sent off in the dying minutes put paid to a chance of sharing the points.
Up next for The Fed is Boness United next Saturday at Whitton Park in the Super League.
